South County Virtual Academy offers a FREE public school program (through Capistrano Unified) for performance focused students in grades 6, 7, 8, and an additional "High School Prep" year. The "High School Prep" year allows current 8th graders an additional year to physically and academically train for their upcoming high school years. Coursework will strengthen their high school academic readiness while students will also be able to attend performance training sessions at a CUSD school site.
Through the Elite Performance Academy, students complete independent study with support from credentialed CUSD teachers and gain scheduling flexibility during the school day for training, practice and travel. Performance training sessions will be available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before lunch, and all club or individual training hours will count towards PE credit. Daily academic check-ins with teachers keep students on track, while flexible scheduling allows families to choose how often to attend on-site offerings. This program supports athletes in team and individual sports as well as students pursuing other performance disciplines.
